Scope of Works:

Ecological works, site strip, removal of topsoil, breakout of hard stand areas, cut and fill activities including stabilisation and Rolling Dynamic Compaction to enhance soil strength and enable re-use. Additionally, Dunton managed the classification, segregation and disposal of c.30,000m3 of surplus soils.

The Wates Group was established in 1897 and is one of the leading privately-owned, construction, development and property services companies in the UK.

Wates were instructed by the DfE Framework to construct a new SEN school for over 1200
children.

 

The chosen site was a former Brick Works, presenting challenges such as heavy contamination
and complex ecology issues.

 

Dunton scope included ecological works, site strip, removal of topsoil, breakout of hard stand areas, cut and fill activities including stabilisation and Rolling Dynamic Compaction to enhance soil strength and enable re-use. Additionally, Dunton managed the classification, segregation and disposal of c.30,000m3 of surplus soils. A proportion of the surplus material was diverted from landfill and taken to Dunton’s Wolverhampton treatment Facility.
