The excavation and treatment of weed infected areas offers one of the most time efficient methods for the remediation of invasive weeds.
For rapid treatment of Japanese Knotweed, excavation and removal off site is the chosen solution for many of our clients. This process can be carried out at any time of the year and will typically take 1-6 weeks, depending on the size of the land and how many knotweed stands are to be removed.
Following our initial survey of the land, the surface vegetation is removed and placed into a sealed skip. The excavation process can then begin, removing the knotweed and placing it onto a treatment area, which consists of a 1200 gage polyethene membrane.
Using specialist equipment, the rhizomes are separated from the soil. The soil can remain on site below a suitable capping layer.
Extracted rhizomes are removed from site in the sealed skip to either be incinerated or sent to deep landfill.
