Quantity Surveyor

We are looking for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our team on site at Kilnwood Vale, Crawley.

Job Purpose Statement

To manage all costs relating to projects, from the initial calculations to the final figures. The successful candidate seek to minimise the costs of a project and enhance value for money, while still achieving the required standards and quality.

Working Relationships

The successful candidate will be working closely with:

· All Internal departments

· Clients

· Sub-contractors

· Company directors

· Suppliers 

Job Accountabilities

- Review of Contract documentation issued by Clients prior to Director signature

- Carry out site measurements, collate Engineer Reports and value works variations for monthly valuations

- Produce Applications for Payment; regular Client liaison for sign off

- Receipt certificates with Clients; issue to Accounts department for processing and assist with Credit control on schemes

- Fortnightly carry out reviews on Applications raised, certificates received and retentions held

- Produce cost forecasts for budgeting purposes and review on a weekly basis with site teams to allow future accurate value forecasting

- Production of Subcontract Orders and Professional Services Agreements for those working on site; reviewing against Main Contract requirements

- Pricing all Contract variations

- Reviewing Design & Build requirements on contract schemes

- Administering a range of contracts including :- JCT, NEC, Infrastructure Works, Client Framework Schemes under Design & Build Schemes; Activity Schedule Works, Target Cost contracts

- Issuing of contract documentation to Clients and Subcontractors including :- Letters of Intent, Early Warning Notifications, Variation Requests / Issue of Instructions, Extension of Time Requests, Final Account Statements and settlements, Contract disputes, Technical Queries

- Financial reporting including monthly Cost Value Reconcilaitions; scheme overviews with risk and opportunities, projected Final Accounts and value / cashflow forecasting

At least 5 years experience within a Quantity Surveying role


Quantity Surveying degree or equivalent
